Hi I'm Chase, Saturday girl at Alice's Bear Shop.

Hi, Rikey has asked me to introduce myself as I am the newest member of the team. I first visited Alice's Bear Shop when I was about six or seven years old when I came down on holiday with my family. When I first came to Alice's Bear Shop I was very shy and I got the privilege of painting a bit of Sandy's bow in the book 'Sandy paints a picture'. I loved visiting the people who worked here and enjoyed looking at all the bears. From a young age this was where I wanted to work. I arrive at the...
Promises and how they changed our lives.

It was around a decade ago that we really changed the way we traded and began to trade as ethically as we could. To cut what is a very long story short, Unicef put out a report that told us, British children, our very own children, living in what is the fifth richest country in the word were also the unhappiest! read the Guardian article here That shook me, it really did. We aren't rich but my kids were given everything I could possibly give them, things I could only have dreamed of as a child, how could this be true? Well,...
We don't do Black Friday

We don't just NOT do Black Friday, we are fundamental opposed to the distasteful madness that is Black Friday. Our ethical stance is one of offering products that enrich our customers lives. When you buy from us we want it to be because...

One result of our move across the High Street has been an equal and heavier move for the hubby downstairs. Shifting 10 years of teddy stuff was hard, imagine 6 years of fossil shop! We have the warm glow of finally setting both feet on the ethical path to keep us smiling. He just has tonnes of rock to move. To smooth the way, I have played the 'Man Cave' card! Soooo, why would i rather be sitting with team teddy, in a cozy teddy hospital, playing, I mean working, with teddies today? The man cave will be a workshop...
Settling in to our new home.

We're in. The bears and dolls are all settled, as are Dr Dave and Nurse Lesley. It's cosy and there's a kitchen for Dr Dave's tea! Here we are just moving the patients in. We still have a six month waiting list but have now been able to bring Jnr Dr Darran into theatre. He's in training and training under Dr Dave is a long process. He is the Mr Miyagi of the teddy world! No matter how busy we get, there's still time for a cuddle before surgery. All said, we're delighted with the decision. It wasn't easy but...
