Tricky project

Dear Alice Bears

I recently ordered the Memory Bear pattern and made it up in orange velvet

I’m a pretty experienced seamstress but I have to say in spite of your very excellent tutorials, I found the whole experience massively tricky and the pattern overly complicated

Obviously now I realise I should not have chosen something as heavy as velvet but it was impossible to machine sew on arms and legs through the tiny holes - something I would consider essential if making for a child. Reversing the pieces was extremely difficult and I had to hand sew the head as well, as in spite of very careful attention to detail, it was far too big for the body hole..

My final straw was not being able to pass an embroidery needle through the fabric without using pliers but that was my fault!

I felt I should feed back to you as I was so looking forward to using the pattern and I think it’s really not for beginners..
