These easy to follow, step by step, comprehensive instructions with detailed pattern take you through the process of making a beautiful, heirloom, jointed Teddy Bear using the same techniques that Bear Artists have practised for over a Century.

To make this bear, you will need:
. 35cm/13 3/4" wide x 30cm/12" deep mohair (or other fabric)
. 15cm/6" x 11cm/4 5/16" paw pad material (eg ultra suede)
. 1 x pair of 8mm/5/16", black, glass eyes
. 5 x 20mm/13/16" cotter pin joints (one set)
. Matching sewing thread, general purpose needle and pins
. 120cm/47 1/4" of extra strong thread (used for inserting eyes)
. 95cm/37 3/8" nose thread (Black Cotton Perle looks good)
. 100g/4oz stuffing (polyfibre or kapok and, if you wish to add weight to your bear, steel shot, plastic pellets etc). A long doll needle (about 12cm long, used to insert eyes)
. Fabric scissors and paper scissors
. Tailor’s chalk or ballpoint pen
. Soft toy stuffer (a wooden spoon handle works well)
. Long nosed pliers (for turning cotter pins)
